In response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, we are now offering TeleHealth (virtual) visits for established patients. Virtual visits are available only to those patients who have a pre-scheduled TeleHealth visit, or who have been instructed by a physician to enter their virtual waiting room for a visit encounter.
For all TeleHealth visits, the patient must be present for the visit. The physician will verify the patient’s identity by verifying certain demographic information of the patient prior to proceeding with the visit.
Please note that insurance coverage for TeleHealth visits varies by insurance plan. During the COVID-19 crisis, many commercial and government run plans (Medicare and Medicaid) have loosened restrictions regarding the delivery of TeleHealth and have waived patient costs for these visits. These rules are changing rapidly. Please be aware that we will bill your insurance for the visit. If your insurance plan determines that you are responsible for some or all of the cost of the visit, you will receive a statement from us for the balance due.
Albany & Saratoga Centers for Pain Management uses the website DOXY.ME for TeleHealth visits.
Please note: Apple and Android smartphones are ideal for telemedicine visits, as they have built-in cameras and microphones. A desktop computer or tablet with a camera and microphone may also be used.
A video guide outlining the virtual visit check-in process can be found here on YouTube.com.
